PSG Dominate Marseille in One-Sided Le Classique at Parc des Princes
By Akins Wandex
In one of the most emphatic editions of Le Classique this season, Paris Saint-Germain delivered a statement victory with a stunning 5–0 rout of Olympique de Marseille in Ligue1 at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
PSG asserted control early and never looked back, showcasing their attacking firepower and depth in front of a passionate home crowd. French international Ousmane Dembélé was the catalyst for PSG’s offensive display, scoring twice in the first half and setting the tone for a dominant performance.
The second half brought more misery for Marseille. A Facundo Medina own goal compounded their woes before quality finishes from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Lee Kang-in wrapped up the comprehensive victory. The result propelled PSG back to the top of the Ligue 1 table with 51 points from 21 matches, overtaking their rivals in a tight title race.
Marseille, who had briefly reached the top of the standings earlier in the weekend, were held to just a handful of chances and fell back down the table to fourth, ending a spirited but ultimately disappointing night in the French capital.
The rivalry between PSG and Marseille – known for its intensity and history – lived up to its billing for PSG supporters, but this one-sided scoreline marked one of the biggest margins of victory in recent meetings between the two clubs.
With this powerful performance, PSG reaffirmed their credentials in the title race and sent a clear message to their Ligue 1 rivals as the season approaches its decisive stages.

Jeffrey de Lange – 4/10
A tough night for the Marseille goalkeeper. Despite a few saves, he was frequently exposed by PSG’s relentless attacks and could do little to prevent the goals.

Struggled massively against PSG’s forwards, beaten repeatedly and lacking composure.
Timothy Weah – 4.5/10
Overwhelmed defensively and offered little in attack, illustrating Marseille’s difficulties on both ends of the pitch.
Amine Gouiri – 4/10
Ineffective and isolated, he failed to make an impact up front as Marseille’s attacking threats were stifled.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg & Midfield Unit – 5/10 (collective):
Marseille’s midfield was unable to cope with PSG’s rhythm and intensity, offering limited protection to a beleaguered defence.
