Antony’s Spectacular Strike Propels Real Betis to Landmark Win at Atlético Madrid

In a spirited La Liga encounter on Sunday, 8 February 2026, Real Betis delivered a highly significant away victory at the Metropolitano Stadium, securing a 1–0 win over Atlético Madrid courtesy of a sublime goal by Brazilian forward Antony. 

The decisive moment arrived in the 28th minute when Antony picked up the ball outside the penalty area, cut inside past defenders, and curled a stunning effort past Jan Oblak at the near post — a finish that ultimately proved decisive. The goal was not only a moment of individual brilliance but also a symbolic response to Betis’s heavy 5–0 defeat to Atlético in the Copa del Rey just days earlier, offering a sense of redemption and resilience for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
