Xiaomi Raises the bar with Redmi Note 15 Pro+
Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, marking a significant upgrade to its popular mid-range smartphone series. The device, first launched in China in mid-2025, has now rolled out globally, offering premium features at a competitive price.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ boasts a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Its sleek glass-and-aluminum design is complemented by dust and water resistance, ensuring both durability and style.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process, making it one of the most powerful options in the mid-range segment. Buyers can choose from 8GB, 12GB, or even 16GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of UFS storage, paired with Android 15 running Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.
Photography enthusiasts will be impressed by the 200MP primary camera, supported by an 8MP ultrawide lens and additional depth and telephoto modules depending on the region. A 32MP front camera ensures high-quality selfies and video calls. Advanced AI imaging and 4K video recording are included, positioning the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ as a serious contender for camera-centric mid-range phones.
Battery life has also received an upgrade. The global variant houses a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging and support for reverse charging, promising all-day usage with minimal downtime. Additional features include 5G connectivity, NFC, under-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Pricing varies by region. In India, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ starts at ₹57,999 for the 8GB/256GB model. In Nigeria, unofficial estimates range from ₦300,000 to ₦540,000, though official pricing has yet to be confirmed.
Compared with previous Redmi Note models, the 15 Pro+ stands out for its flagship-grade 200MP camera, high-performance chipset, and modern software experience. However, early community feedback suggests mixed impressions on software optimization and battery longevity, which remain areas for potential improvement.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ represents Xiaomi’s continued strategy of offering premium features at mid-range prices, catering to users seeking performance, photography, and design without the flagship price tag.
